The journeyman examination for carpenters and cabinetmakers consists of a theoretical part and a practical part, which is administered on behalf of the Crafts Board of Reutlingen and the Cabinetmakers' Guild Sigmaringen.
The theoretical part consists of the subjects of technology, mathematics and technical drawing. The subjects German and social studies are waived, as they are already covered in high school. Economics will be held in a seminar course during the class 11 and tested at the end.
The practical part includes a self-designed journeyman's piece and a given single piece, the so-called working sample.
